Top Ten Target Clothing/Shoes Picks for Fall/Winter 2017: A New Day Brand
My weekend Target run was SO GOOD that it inspired me to blog about some of the amazing things I found, and for such affordable prices! Target is really my raison d'etre (reason for being), my go-to for any item under the sun, especially fashion!! What I love about the clothing at Target is that it is SO ON TREND, always, and SO affordable! (Especially with the weekly Cartwheel deals + red card- whee!) I am especially enjoying the new clothing brand that Target released a few months ago called A New Day. This brand is like the perfect marriage of juniors trendy plus sophisticated woman of her thirties (and up). The price points are s-w-e-e-t too! I was SO tempted by all the items I saw today. I purchased one item, and will put some of the others on my wishlist for the future (stupid budget!) Without further ado, here are my Top Ten picks (mostly from the brand A New Day) for Fall and Winter. All items are linked with pictures. Now, get ready for lots of fur and velvet!
1. A New Day Velour Top
This top ROCKS. One, because it's less than $18. Two, because its VELVET (velour, same thing) and SUPER TRENDY RIGHT NOW! A loose top like this is a perfect way to try out this trend! And at this price, why not try it!? I would pair this tip with jeans, as shown, and you could dress up or down with your shoe choice. Pair with sneakers or slides for a casual look, or a pair of leather pumps to dress up the look. For a dressier look, pair this top with a pair of wide leg or cropped trousers and some oxfords. Keep the rest of the look simple since this is your statement. With this shirt, keep patterns to a minimum.
TIP: DON'T DO DOUBLE VELVET. As tempting as it might be- just don't! One piece of velvet per outfit is plenty. So choose a top, dress, skirt, shoes, purse...just one thing at a time.
2. A New Day Relaxed Bell Sleeve Any day Pullover Sweater
Bell Sleeves are still sizzling!! This sweater has a classy, elegant take on statement sleeves. I love the tie detail and the relaxed feel of this top. Pink /blush is also everywhere right now (hello Pantone color of the year!) This piece is a nice way to incorporate the statement sleeve trend without looking to flouncy. This sweater pairs well with most items in the closet: trousers, skirts, jeans- you name it. This is a throw-on-and-go piece. Easy!
3. A New Day Printed Utility Blouse
You had me at BIRDS!! Really, I am a sucker for a whimsical print! I think this blouse is just SO darling. This shirt reminds me of something you would find for a MUCH higher price tag at Anthropologie (this beauty is only $19.99). I love how it is tailored, but at the same time whimsical. I love this shirt paired with the velvet skirt (see number 4) but also would pair it with some boyfriend jeans and silver oxfords (see number 10). Great color choice here as well.
4. A New day Velvet Midi Skirt
This skirt caught my eye immediately! I just love the color and texture. Here is another great way to incorporate the velvet trend into your wardrobe! This would be so cute paired with the booties as pictured, a white graphic tee, and a jean jacket. It could also work with the blouse above, dark tights and pumps. I also see it with a fuzzy black sweater and some sneakers. Ahhh, give me alllll the velvet!
5. A New Day Textured Skinny Pants
Ok. These pants are perfect for the holiday season that is now upon us. The brocade pattern is very on trend, and the silhouette is sleek and modern. The texture and pattern will add interest to your outfit. You cant go wrong with a pair of LBP (little black pants, the cousin of the LBD!). I love dressing these up as shown with colorful heels and a white top, but equally love dressing them down with a cozy sweater and sneakers. These pants would be slimming which is an added bonus. This is a great take on basic black pants.
6. A New Day Leopard Coat
This coat is everything!! As I have mentioned previously, I have a love affair with faux fur. This coat screams FUN and VINTAGE (with a tiny side of London punk) vibes to me. For a more bulky style, it is actually pretty flattering. This coat is also very soft and warm. It reminds me so much of a coat that one of the characters in a show that I have been watching (The Beautiful Lie on Hulu- highly recommend). The leopard print is timeless- this is a piece you could wear for years and years to come! The fur gives a nice texture and interest to your outfit. This coat pairs so well with brights like pink and red! I can see it really popping with some red shoes! The price point is also fantastic- $39.99. This is on my MUST GET list!
7. A New Day Faux Fur Jacket
J'adore this coat equally as much as the leopard one above! This coat screams LONDON VIBE to me! The color is just amazing, love the more cropped silhouette. This coat is a bit more bulky than the leopard, but its still cool as hell! Pairing options are also limitless here. What can I say, I love colored faux fur! When wearing faux fur, play with the other textures in your outfit. I really like pairing faux fur with a slinky silk or polyester material I can see this going so well over a slip dress such as this one from Asos. Ok, now I've got Mackenzie Davis' character in Blade Runner outfit totally in my head now! (Check it out here- it's a killer look!) The aforementioned look would be amazing with the shoes in number 10.
8. Mossimo Pompom Sneakers
Pompom sneakers continue to have a moment! I just love these! They are so whimsical and fun. And luxe looking, for a steal. Compare these to these beauties by Sam Edelman- hard to tell the difference, and you are saving $70 with these! (Sam Edelmans are $100, these are $27.99). These are dupes for more expensive designer brands. If you have been wanting to try the trend, this is a good option! I would pair these with some distressed boyfriend jeans, a sweater or graphic tee. Keep your look somewhat athlesiure with these shoes. An added bonus- most shoes of this style have detachable poms, so you get two shoes in one!
9. A New Day Over the Knee Boots
Over the knee boots are absolutely HUGE right now. Look at any famous fashion blogger's insta--- you will see these on repeat! Especially this kind with the tie at the top. I have been wanting a pair for SO long and finally picked these up today! These are such a great dupe for the Stuart Weitzman pair which are a whopping 800 dollars! {SHRIEK!!!} Alternately, these boots are VERY affordable at $39.99 (plus 20 percent off boots right now with Cartwheel and additional 5% off with red card). These look so nice with skirts and dresses, and provide your legs with coverage and warmth in the colder weather. There are lots of similar styles with a higher heel, but I prefer the flat heel for comfort sake. This pair are done in a very nice faux-suede material that is much higher quality (and actually resembles suede, for once) than a lot of the other faux suede styles I have seen. I cannot wait to style outfits around these! I will be posting some outfits with these soon I am sure. If you want to elevate your look immediately to chic and sophisticated, grab a pair of these!
10. A New Day Silver Oxfords
Last but not least, these silver Oxfords are just cool. I love the vibe of these- preppy with a twist. Silver is a great neutral that can go with pretty much everything. These would pair well with your more tailored and whimsical styles- think cropped pants, button down top with birds, cats, horses or other cutsie symbols. These would look adorable with the velvet skirt and bird top from above. They would look equally as cute with a pair of jeans and graphic tee, and blazer. I feel like they are screaming to be paired with a skirt and colored tights. Pair them with a dress for an unexpected cool-girl look. Since these shoes have a masculine vibe, pair them with feminine pieces for that perfect juxtaposition that makes your look unforgettable. Cue: London Calling by the Clash!
